The Well

The Well Collection is inspirated by the well at Be'er Sheva, Israel, a place of great meaning in Jewish culture.

It has become for me, a Biblical motif. Here, our ancestors, in the course of daily life, made pivotal connections which

changed history. Thus, they are my midrash on the spiritual power of place and memory as portals to contemplation and to personal agency.

 

My abstracted, color field paintings allow me to experiment with the concept of transition and expanse. They feature color, light, and an untethered perspective which frees the viewer from earthly bounds, giving entry to mystical space. Within their liminality, color and light resonate with a deeper emotional spectrum through which we enter spiritual experience. Here, spirituality is all we have, and connection is all we seek.
