Nature's Tapestry explores the experience evoked when we are in natural settings. I imagine them as nature's cloak, of sky, land, foliage, and reflection, translated into an illusory abstraction. The oil and cold wax paint recalls the influence of abstract expressionism. With a meditative and gestural application, it is applied and scraped away to reveal a textured, woven quality, which is out of focus, and memorizing. They represent a changing cycle of color and flowing motion to remind us of our own capacity to renew and heal.
